Hi and welcome! I’m Dasha Maiorova (don’t worry about pronunciation, I’ve gone by every possible variation) – a writer living in Sydney. I was born in Minsk, Belarus, and have a particular passion for that area of the world. I’m currently polishing my first novel, Birch, a story set in Saint Petersburg, a place of ghosts and history. In 2015, Birch was long-listed for the Richell Prize for Emerging Writers. I have another work underway, Bury the Sun, the contemporary tale of a crime perpetuated in a small Australian town. See the WORKS page for more information.
My previously published works include:
Red-emption – Radio play produced by ABC Radio National Airplay program as part of Illawarra Water, October 2008 (name attributed as Dasha Mairov).
Gioca, Paper-People – Short story in TIDE vol. 5, 2008.
Plate Dynasty & The Teeth of Roses – Poetry and short story in Voiceworks no. 70, 2007.
